IARM and ICOH Commits for a Scientific Collaboration in the field of Occupational Safety and Health for Agricultural and Rural Communities.

Dr. Ashok Patil, President of International Association of Rural Health & Medicine (IARM), Japan and Dr. Kazutaka Kogi, President of International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH), Italy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a Scientific Collaboration in the field of Occupational Safety and Health for Agricultural and Rural Communities, on 1st December 2009. The MOU between the two organizations ascertained the common interests in creating an international network of experts dealing with rural health and occupational health issues of rural people which include i) promotion of inter-disciplinary formal academic, training and research activities in the field of rural health, agricultural medicine and occupational health, ii) strengthen advocacy and networking efforts; iii) organizing prevention programmes to assist rural communities; iv) conducting exchange programmes and educational visits.
