- XIII International Congress of Agricultural Medicine and Rural Health was held on 7-9 September 1997 at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, USA. Over 170 individuals from 12 nations participated in Conference.
- The IV International Symposium on Ergonomics, Work Safety and Occupational Hygiene was held on October 27-29, 1997 at the Institute of Agricultural Medicine in Lublin, Poland. 120 participants, including scientists from Poland, Germany, the Ukraine and India attended this seminar. The symposium was sponsored by the Institute of Agricultural Medicine in association with the Main National Inspectorate in Warsaw, the Central Agency of the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund in Warsaw, the Agricultural Agency of State Treasury in Warsaw and the Lublin Division of the Polish Ergonomic Society. Prof. Jerzy Zagorski, President of the IAAMRHs Commission on Ergonomics and Safety, chaired the Organizing Committee.
- International Conference on Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety in Agriculture was held in Kief, the Ukraine on September 8-11, 1998 under the aegis of the World Health Organization, International Labour Office and IAAMRH. The Academy of Medical Sciences, Ministry of Public Health and Committee supported the meeting for Surveillance over Labour Protection. About 250 representatives of government and other public organizations, public health and medical specialists participated in the conference from 15 countries together with representatives of WHO, ILO, UNEP and other international Organizations. WHO consultations were held on "Good Practice on Health, Environmental and Safety Management in Industrial and other Enterprises".
- International Conference on Woman and Child - Health, Empowerment, Rights and Development, 14-16 November 1998. The Indian Chapter of IAAMRH under the aegis of Pravara Medical Trust, Loni and Comprehensive Rural Health Project, Jamkhed, Loni, India has organized the Conference.
The theme of the conference was sponsored by a) SEARO, World Health Organization, b) UNESCO, India, c) Central Planning Commission,
Government of India d) National Commission for Women, Government of India. Financial support has been extended by UNICEF, India, UNFPA, India, Department for International Development (DFID), British High Commission, India, Department of Women & Child Development, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, University of Pune, India.
About 350 participants from 33 countries including representative of NGOs, GOs, Universities, WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, DFID, have participated in the conference. Participants representing various countries have discussed, debated the issues and accepted to implement the "Loni Declaration" in their respective countries. (Copy enclosed)
- XIV International Congress of Agricultural Medicine and Rural Health was held on May 25-27, 2000 in Pecs Medical University, Pecs, Hungary. The theme of the Congress is "Cooperation and Collaboration for the Health of the Rural Population". Dr. Charles Boelen, represented WHO and delivered keynote address on "TOWARDS UNITY FOR HEALTH (TUFH)", Dr. Forresteri, represented ILO. About 280 participants have participated from over 23 countries.
The Congress has come out with a Statement of Declaration called "Pecs Declaration" for reaffirming the Associations policies, commitments, methods, programmes, for achieving "health for all" rural people. A copy of the Pecs Declaration is enclosed.
